At Avencia, we’re always striving to increase the usability and aesthetic appeal of our applications. Keith Fraser’s research project centers around developing animations and web application components with Adobe Flash and the Flex API. The ability to manipulate maps and other information through graphic elements will improve user experience and help to streamline front-end application development. Flash has the ability to access server-side information from a database through XML, PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, and Javascript. Emerging Flex technologies allow client-side processing of information, direct manipulation of data, and data visualization online.

Keith is currently working with Rich Tuttle on developing a Flash-based histogram for Avencia's Sajara product, and plans to develop custom UI components for REX.
